Despite job cuts and a move of factory location, TVR is fighting back with three new models, radical designs and a positive outlook for the future.
- Nikolai Smolenski, TVR's owner for the past two years, has been working for months on a plan to relocate the company to bigger, purpose-designed premises, possibly overseas. His vision is to move TVR into a company of Aston Martin proportions.
- The move will allow production procedures to be radically modernised and quality to be further improved.
- Eventually TVR plans to be able to make 5000 cars a year - more than double its greatest output ever and sell outside the UK.
- TVR wants to eventually build a three tier range of models occupying the present positions of Sagaris, Tuscan and Cerbera. There will be a roadster, Targa and Coupe version if demand warrants.
- TVR has already taken steps to improve the quality and reliability of its own-brand six cylinder engine, but plans to use a proprietary V8 are in place.
